Even after being switched off, burners on the 161,000 recalled ranges can stay lighted, and temperatures can increase unexpectedly during use. LG has received 80 reports of incidents involving faulty burners, although no fires or injuries have been reported.
Recalled LG electric ranges were sold at Best Buy, Home Depot, Sears, and other appliance retailers nationwide from January 2006 to June 2010 for between $800 and $1,999.
If you own a recalled range, contact LG to schedule a free in-home repair.
