Almost 160,000 Black & Decker under-the-cabinet coffeemakers are being recalled by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission after coffee pot handles have broken and caused cuts and burns.

The Spacemaker 12-cup programmable under-the-cabinet coffeemakers were made in China and distributed by Applica Consumer Products Inc. of Miramar, Fla. The company has received 1,276 reports of handles breaking, including 68 reports of injuries.

The recalled coffeemakers were sold at major retails nationwide from July 2008 through May 2012 for between $50 and $80.

If you own the Spacemaker, stop using it immediately and contact Applica for a free replacement.
