HeathCo and the Consumer Product Safety Commission have recalled nearly 8,000 motion-sensing security lights.

HeathCo LLC and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission have recalled about 7,800 Heath®/Zenith 270° Motion Security Lights. The organizations say the lighting system’s internal wiring can be damaged during installation, bulb replacement, or adjustment, posing an electrical shock hazard.

The defective lights were sold nationwide at Home Depot stores from September 2011 to April 2012.

There have been no reports of incidents or injuries.
Consumers who own the recalled units — check the back of the motion sensor for the model number SL-5414-WH — should immediately stop using the lights by shutting down power at the circuit breaker or fuse panel.

HeathCo will replace all recalled light fixtures.
