Philips Lighting Company and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission have recalled almost 2 million compact fluorescent flood lamps that pose a laceration hazard.

Philips Lighting Company and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission have recalled almost 2 million compact fluorescent flood lamps that pose a laceration hazard.

Philips reportedly has fielded 700 reports of lamps where the glue failed and the glass outer envelope fell, posing a laceration and property damage hazard. The flood lamps are sold under the names Energy Saver, Marathon, or Marathon Classic Compact Fluorescent Dimmable Reflector Flood.

Consumers should stop using the floods and contact Philips (866-622-6372) for a free replacement lamp.
