More than 150,000 Honda portable generators are being recalled because fuel leaks pose a fire and burn hazard. This is the third recall of portable generators, including the Powermate, since Hurricane Sandy robbed millions of power and made portable generators the primary emergency power source for some.

The Honda generator’s fuel hose can leak gasoline, which can cause a fire. Four incidents of fuel leaks have been reported to the company, although no fires or injuries have been reported.

The gasoline-powered portable generators were sold nationwide online and at power equipment and sports stores from October 2011 through September 2012 for between $1,150 and $1,400.

If you own a recalled Honda generator, stop using it and contact the nearest Honda Power Equipment dealer to schedule a fee inspection and repair.
