  • Yup, that’s an actual 5.7-liter, V-8 hemi engine, capable of grilling 240 hot dogs in 3 minutes. Built by a Chrysler team as part of “What Can You Hemi?” contest, it’s not available for purchase. You’d need a quarter-mile-long patio, anyway.

  • A little imagination, $20 worth of heat-resistant paint, and some homemade cardboard stencils turned this $150 charcoal grill and smoker into a character from “Char Wars: Return of the Ribeye.” Beep beep! Your steak is done!

  • This 6-burner gas grill includes quartz-start ignition, warming racks, a roasting hood, work shelves, and cabinet storage. Oh yes, it’s also plated in 24-carat gold, making it the world’s most expensive barbecue grill. It retails for about $165,000. With the price of gold near record highs, consider it an investment.

  • If you’ve got an edible garden, then you’re bound to appreciate this two-for-one charcoal cooker. By day, it looks like an ordinary terra cotta planter. But come evening, pop the lid and get your grill on. Season your vittles with fresh herbs you grow right in the top. $124.

  • Master BBQ chefs know that presentation is vital to the overall experience — right down to the grill marks. You’ll have your steaks hanging in the Louvre when you use this laser-cut grilling surface to brand your fish and chops with a custom-designed pattern.

  • Food and drink really come together in this rustic grill made from a whisky barrel. It’s lined with metal to prevent burning and has a removable ash tray. The staves are American white oak. $950.

  • Elves and munchkins will love this diminutive 3-inch-wide grill made from an Altoids tin. The grills are computer fan guards, and the kettle is powered up by a single charcoal briquet. Perfect for modest appetites, and for urban chefs with apartments or very small homes.

  • If you like mobile technology, you’re sure to appreciate this on-the-go street-vendor grill. Sure, a shopping cart may be at the low end of the tech spectrum, but as any true outdoor kitchen chef knows, it’s not the grill, it’s the technique that counts.
