Mar. 6—Hundreds of Texans serviced by Oncor Electric Delivery say their smart meters are inaccurately measuring their electricity use. Oncor says the meters work fine, and suggests humans may have caused the problem by making mistakes when they took the last reading from the electro-mechanical meters that the smart meters replaced.

Obama Spells Out Rebates for Energy Efficiency

Sounding a familiar clean-energy theme, President Barack Obama on Tuesday announced details of a proposed energy rebate program he hopes will spur demand for insulation and water heaters—and jobs for hurting Americans. Obama said the administration’s “HOMESTAR” program would reward people who buy energy-saving equipment with an on-the-spot rebate of $1,000 or more.
