  • Cheri, your kitchen is GORGEOUS. What makes a counter a pastry counter? I take it you're a baker.

  • This is the other view looking toward the bays of 3 windows. This part of the kitchen is still in progress (but due to the major flooding in our town from Irene-it is on hold). It will have 3 recycle bins under the windows with some shelves and a countertop. In the corner will be a pastry counter. To the left will be my husbands desk for working on estimates for his business.

  • This is our new kitchen after 28 years of waiting! And I have a cabinetmaker for a husband!! We love the new open feel to the room, the wall of window you can see in one of the pics and the island is to die for-we used it this Thanksgiving for the 1st time and it worked just how we wanted it to. The beech floor now goes the width of the room and not the length, (which cut up the room as well as a peninsula dividing the kitchen and dining room), thus making the room look much lighter. We have now painted the walls Suntan Yellow with a hint of orange (not seen in pics) for a great pick me up color.

  • Oh, I love Taylor's basement bar. What a great idea!

  • Few kitchen"built-in" cabinets allow for quick changes & updates. Furniture can be moved from room to room & even to & from the kitchen! Each season or holiday can be embraced with decorating & updating the kitchen WITHOUT breaking the bank! Very handy for deep cleaning too! The kitchen becomes the perfect gathering place & constantly changing...not just a place to cook, but, a mecca of FUN!
