The machines’ excessive shaking can cause the drum to come loose, posing a risk of injury to consumers and potentially causing property damage to homes, the CPSC says.
LG received 343 reports of washing machines vibrating excessively, leading to 187 incidents of minor property damage and one minor personal injury.

If you own a recalled washer, contact LG or Sears for a free in-home repair of the machine. And, if you’ve noticed your machine shaking excessively, stop using it until it’s repaired. And avoid washing items that are waterproof or water-resistant, such as mattress pads, mattress covers, and similar items. They increase the chances of loads becoming unbalanced.
